Brian,
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
May I ask a couple other questions?
You mentioned whether I have a network printer. Um, i don't think so? I have
only one laptop using one new AIO printer, but it's Wireless. This is the
first time i've used a printer w/o a cable. Does that mean I have a network
printer?? I think not but am blonde enough to ask.
Nope, it just means you use a wireless printer. However since it's an all-in-one it uses a modem for the fax which does connect to the WAN (Wide Area Network) ie: the web.
I have NIS 2005 i think, with Live Updates.
Open NIS.
Click on Firewall > Configure button > Programs tab.
Also, do you know address is 192.168.0.3:427 or what computer is located
there if that makes sense?
That's a LAN (Local Area Network) address. I wonder if your printer is a network printer and that's the IP assigned (192.168.0.3) and Port (427) it uses. I'm going to go have a peek at it's docs to see what's up.
THANK YOU for helping me
Sarah
