I wanted to post this to help out other people possibly pulling their
hair out.
I have a Gateway 4026gz laptop/notebook computer. It had a random
hibernation issue. It came with hibernation enabled, worked really
well for a while, then after a while it stopped hibernating on the 20
minutes default settings, but would hibernate after a couple of minutes
of use, the next time it was used.
I disabled the Gateway Installation software called, "prismXL" in the
services listing in the administrative tools group in Windows. And
this seems to work. I hope this shows up in Google for everyone.
And, Gateway was no help at all! They never figured this out and
thought I should use "system restore" as if this is a real option?
What's the point of updating the computer if every problem is going to
be solved this way? I hate Microsoft and Gateway and my next laptop
will be a trouble-free Apple.
