Download RepairDefaultPrefix.reg from Mike Burgess' site:

Save it to Desktop. Right-click the file and choose "Merge".

I am no longer able to enter an address starting with "www" and have the
complete http address pop-up for entry. The only way I can enter and access
a specific site is to type the address in the search window and select the
most likely option.
windows xp, IE 7.
thanks.
