Re: AC Power Adapter

the UPS will take the hit before the Laptop sees it, and the
laptop may never see it.

Then he forget to explain how a laptop connected directly to AC mains
via the UPS somehow does not get zapped? He forgets to explain how that
UPS stops what three miles of sky could not. Leythos does not even try
to explain it. He proclaims the anomoly as fact. Then he accuses.
That is technical proof? Leythos learned when previously caught
posting urban myths. Leythos has learned to never post a single
technical fact.

If that UPS provides protection, then he can cite the manufacture
spec. He says nothing. He was lying. If he posted those specs, then
we would see how little he really knows. He is a classic salesman of
gold plated cables for stereo speakers.

Leythos claimed to somehow know - again using his famous "invisible
protector" example. He still never explains the ten times more
appliances - all without surge protector or UPS - that also were not
damaged. Having been caught during that lie, Leythos no longer
acknowledges those tens of other undamaged applainces. He will not
even cite manufacturer's model numbers for his 'invisible protectors'.

No earth ground means no effective protection.
http://lightningsafety.com/nlsi_lhm/rtaf3.html repeatedly demands
one thing - earthing. That UPS does not have a dedicated earthing
connection. But in Leythos' world, devine intervention makes anything
possible. As long as he never even provides a manufacturer spec, then
Leythos must be correct. Even the manufacturer does not claim what
Leythos has posted. Leythos never cites technical facts; never
demonstrate electrical knowledge; does not explain how his UPS will
stop what three miles of sky could not; and does not explain why the
manufacturer does not claim that protection. But somehow he knows.
Facts previously exposed Leythos as a liar. Now he only accuses. He
claims the UPS provides protection. Prove it? He cannot. Somehow he
just knows.

"UPS will take the hit before the Laptop sees it"? Funny. Effective
protection remains funtional after a surge. But then Leythos was lying
again.

You're wrong, I have explained how it works in the real world, how it
works in homes and businesses where UPS's HAVE PROTECTED devices
connected, without damage to them, while the same device(s) not
connected to a UPS(s) have been damaged at the same instance.

What w_tom fails to understand, always, is that nothing he's posted
states, without doubt, from any reputable source, that a quality UPS
device won't protect connected devices.

What most of us have told w_tom, many times, is that we've seen many
instances where UPS's have been the only factor in protecting a device
while an unprotected device is damaged.

Now, like it or not w_tom, you seem to contradict the technical
documents from reputable sources, you DO contradict actual real-world
experiences, and you are wrong about UPS protection.
