I have been having problems with burning CD-Rs (Maxell, no slouch brand).
At first I was doing it through WinExplorer. Then I tried Nero 6.
Nero 6 has a FAQ that states that the user should make sure that firmware
is updated for the particular drive.
So I open Device Manager, and I find that there are THREE DVD/CDROM
"devices" even though I think there is only one.
They are:
PW2394N SKE841D SCSI CdRom Device
QK3406U SGZ561J SCSI CdRom Device
TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2512
I actually download something from the Toshiba USA website that purports to
be a firmware update for the SD-R2512, then it tells me it cannot find the
target drive.
I don't even know how to update the other "CdRom Devices."
I know one thing: I am tired of WinExplorer and Nero burning nothing on
CD-Rs and making them unwritable thereafter.
What is the matter here?
