I installed this program and it modified my settings on my start menu.
I use to have previously accessed programs and now it shows nothing.
Only the programs that I have in my startup menu. The program came as
a trial version where I could reset the old settings but I didn't do
that before it expired. Is there a way where I can go back to my old
setting without paying for the program to do it for me?

Thanks in advance.

Try system Restore to an Earlier date before you installed this program.
Or contact the vendor by e-mail and ask them nicely for Help on how to
remove the program because you can't afford to buy it.

I don't want to try system restore, because I have done a lot since
then. But I will try asking them nicely. I can afford the program. I
just don't think that it's worth buying it.

Thanks for your time and input.

Have you tried the right-mouse click on the start button.
Then go to properties - then the customize button.
Check on that page to see if the number of prior programs is set to zero.
