Re: Wiondows xp won't display contents of a cd when I switch it

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

What antivirus software do you have?

When I use Folder view in Windows Explorer and eject a CD from D: or E:, the
instant the tray opens, it moves the focus to the Control Panel.

If I use the Tasks view and eject a CD from D: or E:, the instant the tray
starts to open, Windows Explorer just closes.

Hi Wes, Hi everybody,

"I don't use it", refers to the explorer "folder views" option,
obviously in explorer using it. The problems treated in the article is
that explorer used with that option activated can behave in this wrong
way.

The Microsoft Support refers to the "folder view" of windows explorer.
I don't use it.
Checking the behaviour of explorer to check if it is as described in
the MS Support Article, I tested that problem is still there without
"folder view" option activated.

The problem that toolman ask for is the same I have. Both explorer and
winnc show the same behaviour.
I've done all things described here means using explore and disabling
folder view.
I don't use it, the folder views in explorer, this is.

Look at the other post,
Today a flash let the problem moving to a definitive solution.
I disabled the file antivirus scanning on all the removable media
and....
works!!!!!!!!!!
Now when I change the optical media explorer (and winnc.net, off
course) shows the right content.
This participate in the problem (I suppose, because doing that the
behaviour change), is much better than before but still not
definitive.

Only one thing more to solve. Explore shows an empty disc when the tray
is opened, is not a problem but it would be better that it says "please
insert a disk"..... Every suggestion is welcome!

I'm sorry for my poor english, be patient.

Ciao!

Roberto
