Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

If it is still under warranty it is the best option.
Good luck.

Bit scared to download anything else onto the laptop to be honest. Its
getting sent of to Toshiba on Weds and if they wont then I am rebooting it
when I get it back...hoping that will solve the problem instead.

Abi,
Delete them all you don't need them in both, 3000 it seems to0 mecreated by
the Virus.
Download this Tool and delete them in one click:
http://www.purgeie.com/delinv/index.htm
And do a scan from another Vendor other than Norton to get clear result if
the virus still on your computer or not.
It seems Norton taking the Virus into it's chest, because it can't
quarantine it or Remove, unless you go to Norton and see the Quarantine files
there and Right click them and select Clean or Remove, ****but please don't
double click them***.
Scan for malwares by downloading this tool:
http://www.safer-networking.org for Spybot S&D
HTH.
Please let us know.

I was looking in Temp...which my Norton alerted me to having 3 Viruses
in...so trying to get rid of them all asap to hopefully sort that problem
out.

I consider selecting all and then deleting but dont know if this is too
risky...

Which folder are you looking in - Temp or Temporary Internet Files?
The IE Delete Files should remove cached files in T.I.F, but not cookies
which are also there. That's a separate step.

Are you looking at the currently logged on user's Docs and Settings folder?

As to the Temp folder, Disk Cleanup should clear (most) of that. You can
also manually delete those files, keeping in mind that a few might be in use
and thus won't be deleted.
