Re: Menu item lost

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

i think some registry information must be lost about my documents
when i save a file in the save as window, the place bar does not contain my
documents.
Even i use tweak-ui to make a placebar manually(my documents selected), it
does not appear.

You're welcome.

It works, thank you very much.
I lost my pictures & my music information in the registry.

But another problem along with it, i also lost the link to my document in
the left menu "Other places" of the explorer view.

Which registry information is missed then?

Okie. Can you verify the shell folder paths in the registry? The default
values are given here:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/usershellfolders.htm

Check the paths for My Documents, My Music and My Pictures.

I just right clicked the my documents on the start menu and move it to
another logic disk. Not a removable disk, just the same disk.

Another problem doubts me is that when i restarted it today, my music
appears on the start menu but there are TWO folder named my music
appeared
in
my documents folder. When i directed to the folder by the dir command,
there
is only ONE item named my music.

i'm sure it's not the cause of the virus or malicious softwares.

Hi Xinyin,

Which method did you use to move the "My Documents" folder. For
instance,
if
you've relocated them to a removable drive, and if the removable
drives
are
inaccessible by Windows (during startup), the links will remain
missing
in
the Start menu.
