Re: Does an ISO archive already contain all boot information ?

Assume I have an *.ISO file and burn it on a CD/DVD.
Is this burned CD/DVD automatically bootable as well if the
original CD/DVD (from which the *.ISO image is ripped) was bootable?

In other words: Does the *.iso file already contain ALL necesssary boot information ?

Or do I have to tell the burning software in an additional, separate option
"please software add boot information resp. burn it as a bootable CD/DVD" ?

An .iso is an image of the CD/DVD. It does depend on how the .iso was prepared.but in general , yes, if the original was bootable so should a CD burned from the *.iso.
