Remote Assistance - remote host sould not be resolved.

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I've used Remote Assistance over and over and over. It's a fantastic
addition to the Microsoft family. But recently it seems that almost
everyone I try to connect to I get the message about not being able to
resolve their host and it fails. These are family members that not a
week before I was connecting to and helping with ease.

I prefer to use windows, or msn, and now windows live messenger as I
read an article about it not mattering about a firewall using RA this
way. And in the past it always seemed true. My Ex's Mom has a wireless
router and I've connected to her several times in the past to fix odd
problems she's had.

I just tried to help her again and encountered the problem on her
computer too now. On my families computers they have kids that use the
computers quite a bit so I was telling myself that ones of the kids
must have changed something without really knowing what they were
doing. But Karen, my Ex's Mom and her husband live alone with no
family nearby and she says no one but her has been on the computer.
But now I cannot connect to her anymore. The only things she does on
the computer is print pictures, check/send email, and she may visit a
few craft web sites once in a blue moon.

She says nothing new has been installed and nothing has gone wrong
since last time(over 4 moths ago). She wanted me to fix her printing
problem she's having. It's only printing in black. So we tried, to no
avail.

I'm not new to computers. I've been working with them, repairing(over
13yrs.) and recently even programming them(3yrs). When I was having
trouble with my families computers, getting this same error about not
being able to resolve the host name, I googled for hours reading and
searching for solutions. I've read about needing to port forward and
all that. But that does not explain why 1 moment I can connect to a
computer then the next I no longer can.

I know it's not me or my system since just last week I connected to a
friend over in Sweden and helped him with a problem he was having with
no trouble at all. Please, can someone try and help me resolve these
'remote host name cannot be resolved' problems?
