There have been problems reported with Zone Alarm. Disable it, enable the
Windows Firewall
and then try the Windows Updating service.
installed. Enabled Windows Firewall and gone to Updates. Got to Checking
for Latest Updates and that commenced. 2/3 minutes and it all froze up
again. I haven't read the links you referred to - might they help?
Sorry for all this trouble - I naively thought someone would wave a magic
wand! I should really have known better!!!
