Re: Right Clicking Desktop Icons Causes Delay

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I had the same problem and found that Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 was the
cause of the problem. The specific problem was that it had created a
virtual drive,
and this was causing the slow response on the desktop. I uninstalled Easy
Media Creator, then reinstalled it without the option of having a virtual
drive. Everything
is fine now.

Hello,
Newly formatted computer (Dell XPS) with Windows XP , SP2 and all the
latest updates. I've done the Windows Update drill and there are no
updates left to do....

Problem:

Whenever I RIGHT CLICK on icons on my desktop, it takes about 10seconds
before the context menu pops up. However, this problem does not happen
when I RIGHT CLICK on the minimized windows in my task bar.

Does anyone have ANY clue as to what could be happening? I have no idea
where to even start to troubleshoot......thanks.
