I have WinXP SP2 with C:, D:, E:, harddrives and G: (smart card reeader
built
into printer), I: CD/DVD burner, J: CD/DVD-ROM and 2 DaemonTools generic
CD/DVD drives(Y: & Z:). everytime I boot my pc the drives G,J,Y,Z all get
the
drives letter changed during the shutdown of windows. I beleive this
occurs
during the shutdown because at the point that Windows issues the "Windows
is
Shutting down" message the process takes much longer on this problem pc,
sometimes more than 60sec with this message displayed. Also I can get a
bootlog that shows the system startup and there is never any indication of
drives letter changes or assignments during startup. Is there a way to
capture all commands and messages during a windows restart? How can I
determine what process is causing my drive letter change?

Before you shut down, make sure you unmount all daemon drives and set the
number of devices to 0... set it to 2 when you load up again. I have noticed
daemon can create some problems if you dont disable the drives when you are
done using them.
