did this to another computer last year, only printer drivers and
obvious
stuff like that were needed. I'm not even sure what a mobo chipset
is....but
I'm looking it up.

Similar to Esge's problem on 10/10/06.
After reading up on mine - I see threads on his registry issue
everywhere -
nothing about this.
I did a clean install of Pro over Home and now I have No LAN icon
or
connection and the wizard can't create one.
ipconfig /all shows nothing at all
automatically detect IP and DNS is all set correctly
old computer still connects to the cable modem just fine

Over my head - help.
