Hi Neil,
Yes, i did unistall from the add/remove program and still had the
same results. After pulling my hair out, I did some additional research and
it was suggeested that I try Nvidia driver version 84.21. I unistalled the
Nvidia drivers
from the add/remove program. I restarted the computer and was told to try it
in F8 VGAmode, download the Nvidia driver v84.21 and then restart in normal
mode. I did that yesterday afternoon, and like usual everything appeared good.
The restart worked and like I always do I shut the computer down
around midnight and started it back up around 0530. When I start it after
being shut off for an hour or longer is when the Blue Screen would appear to
all STOP messages related to the driver issue. Anyways, this morning I turned
on the computer and it has been up and running since 0530...with no Blue
Screen of Death...so far so good,
so it appears that Nvidia v84.21 work well with the Nvidia GeForce Ti4200
that I was updating.
Does it make sense that I would only receive this blue screen
after the computer was shut off for an hour or longer .... even just doing a
restart after the
blue screen ... it restarted like normal and would run fine until shut off
completely for an hour or longer and then POW....so I have my fingers crossed
this truly has fixed the Nvidia driver ... I sure have learned, if its not
broke, DON'T MESS with it!!!
Plesae let me know what you think .... Joe

Do you uninstall the previous drivers from Add/Remove programs, if not I.
would do that and then install the original drivers again. Be sure to reboot
first and let the PC start with basic drivers. You may want to try
http://www.drivercleaner.net/ (the free version) to be sure all remnants are
removed.

Presumably, you have the original CD containing a driver.. now would be a
good time to use it.. if it gives no problems, stick with it..

Hello ...
Good morning!
Just to provide as much information as possible ... this
entire
encounter stated when I updated the NVIDIA driver. I had Nvidia
GeForce4
Ti4200, version
dated 2006.06.01 and updated to driver - Forceware v93.71 is this the
correct update. Anyways, this is where the problems started..alll
though
all
was fine until the next morning when I started the computer up ...
The very next morning yesterday ... upon start-up in the
morning
the ---system came up with the
BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH and had an error message:
STOP: 0X0000008E ...etc...KERNEL_Mode_Exception_Not Handled.
Not sure what to do, I unstalled the updated NVIDIA driver and
when back to the original one that came with the computer dated
2003.07.28,
letting the Wizard find it.
HOWEVER, when I started the computer very first thing this
morning I received another BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH with the following
error
message:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_Equal 0X000000D1
This all started when I updated the NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
driver. Not sure what to do, I went back to the original NVIDIA
driver
dated 2003.07.28, after I unstalled the NVIDIA update v93.71 dated
2006.10.22
(from their site), I had the Microsoft Wizard go out and search the
NVIDIA
drivers, I thought all was fine until this morning.
Not being a computer expert .. let me ask you this, I
unstalled the NVIDIA driver from the add/remove programs as the NVIDIA
site
sugggested, tunred off my anti-virus software and didn't know where to
disable the accelarator?
Could you please tell me the step-by-step instructions of what I need
to
do
before downloading the NVIDIA drivers again and should I go back to the
new
update (is that the correct one - V93.71) or should I go back to the
2006.06.01 v91.31, what can I do to correct those errors???
Is is necessary to unistall the NVIDIA program from
the
add/remove section, as soon as I did this the computer restarted and
came
back with the new hardware detected so I just let it select it and it
when
back to the NVIDIA GeForce Ti4200 driver from 2003.07.28.???
I appreciate all your help in resolving this new
issue.
Joe
