ok, so i got on and read all the posts for defragmenting but
nothing so far has given me an answer to the problem. i defrag and
i get te message... "Some files on this volume could not be
defragmented. Please check the defragmentation report for the list
of these files." I have gone back and emptied temp files, i have
scanned disk and rescanned disk. 80% of my hard drive is free. i
even went as far as doing a hard drive self test and i still et the
same message after i defragment. when I go see the report to see
what files wont defrag i dont see any files at all. what do i do
now?

Stop worrying over it and move on.
Finding trouble where there is none is not something you should do in
life.

Being condescending to a newbie is rude & uncalled for; if your
interpersonal skills are suffering why not just avoid responding until you
feel better? Unless this is the only mode you can operate in .
