well, since you can't get to the
desktop, then one of the things
that might help is to do a windows
system repair.

I have seen
modems create this kind of
a problem when it is left
connected/on during a shutdown.
but now a days, it could be
a meriad of causes...

to restore the windows system files
that were corrupted or replaced with
incompatible files, boot from the windows
setup cd, select new install, point to the
o.s that it finds already on you hd, and
say yes to repair it.

this is the easier method and will
only affect "window system files"

me so I can help her out! I (We) appreciate it very much!

This is a Windows XP Professional OS and she has no access to any toolbars
or anything just that one screen that keeps popping up. We are both not
techies so its foreign to us.....shes also in another state than I am and
she
tried calling for support but cannot understand the people she keeps
getting
conncted to. Any help is greatly appreciated!
