blue screen when listen to midi- swmidi.sys problem

My computer has been fine for several years. A few days ago I found
that whenever I open a midi file, the computer hangs with a blue screen
saying "page fault in nonpaged area" with a problem with swmidi.sys. I
haven't made any hardware/software/driver changes recently.

Should I disable/reinstall the midi driver (how to?) ? Or should I try
something else?
