getting error code coooooo6 under IE

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

My computer displayed and IE error barexception handler/external
exception coooooo6. My anti-virus would update, but no Internet
Explorer page would open. In the Task manager there were initially 3
different IE applications running. After several restarts and an
attempt to go to XP recover, my computer doesn't even make it to POST,
it shows a black screen with {Be`-${Be`-$}. I can't even get to the
bios or anything. I put a recovery cd in and it goes to Hit any key to
boot from CD. {Be`-${Be`-$} Is this a virus? I never heard of one with
this much corruptive power? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My
next step will be to slave in an alternate hard drive.
