RE: c000021a (Fatal system error)

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi nass

I've just tried what you suggested but alas it still won't give me a command
prompt.
In bright blue down the bottom it did say that it would start in safe mode
with command prompt but it just carried on to starting windows and then it
would reboot. I tried several times but just kept doing the same thing.
Thanks

At the time of the crash, I was running a program called McAfee AVERT Stinger
v2.6.0. It had just about finished scanning when all of a sudden the
computer screen when black and started rebooting. It kept doing a reboot
loop until I disabled the auto restart function so that I could read whatever
message would appear on the blue screen.

I have read those instructions from the microsoft site link below, however I
don't know how to get to a command prompt. How do I do that?
Thanks

My computer was just recovering from a virus (Downloader.tibs) and was just
doing one final scan when all of a sudden it rebooted all by itself and came
up with this message:
Stop: c000021a {Fatal System error}
The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a
status of 0x00000007 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

I've tried restarting in safe mode but that won't work. It gets up to the
windows logon screen and when I click on the user (which didn't used to be
there) it would do the BSOD with the above message.
What can I do? It's a HP Pavilion 533a running XP Home. The F10 recovery
won't work either...it just carrys on to the welcome screen.
Thanks

Hi Kay,
You didn't tell with what third Party you have been cleaning the Virus, you
may with this software/Virus mismatched or Damaged the Winlogon.exe,
Csrss.exe or both processors and when you try to logon the Kernal sense that
these Processors are not runing and raise the Alert stop message *
0x00000007 *.
