I've just tried what you suggested but alas it still won't give me a command
prompt.
In bright blue down the bottom it did say that it would start in safe mode
with command prompt but it just carried on to starting windows and then it
would reboot. I tried several times but just kept doing the same thing.

I've tried restarting in safe mode but that won't work. It gets up to the

won't work either...it just carrys on to the welcome screen.

Hi Kay,
You didn't tell with what third Party you have been cleaning the Virus, you
may with this software/Virus mismatched or Damaged the Winlogon.exe,
Csrss.exe or both processors and when you try to logon the Kernal sense that
these Processors are not runing and raise the Alert stop message *
0x00000007 *.

=> To start with command prompt, start thre computer and Press consequently
F8 in untill you got the options to boot into safe mode or with command
prompt , Last good configuration, select Command Prompt.
