Buy an "OEM" version of Windows XP Home and install it.
The OEM version is roughly $89.00 at Newegg.com.
It should install with your OEM Key, if not use the Key included in the OEM.

Hi, I have a home pc (which came with restore disks instead of a copy of
windows) and a laptop, bought from Tiny before they went belly up, which
also came with restore disks as opposed to a copy of windows.
The disks for the laptop have disappeared, and I now have a problem. I
need to reinstall windows onto my beloved "Lappy". I must confess, I do
posess a copy of win xp pro (with a slightly dodgy serial number) but I
would prefer to install a valid and legal copy of windows xp (preferably
XP Home). I have a sticker with a valid serial number on it for xp home,
but need to know if I can just download a copy of xp home (we all know
they are available on many p2p software programs) and input my
valid\serial. Would this work?
If I wrote to microsoft could I get a copy of winxp?
failing that does anyone know where I might get a copy of the original
restore disks?
Thankyou for any assistance in this matter
.
