To what specific "recovery option" are you referring? To what specific files are you referring?

If you mean WinXP's built-in System Recovery feature, which restores some system files, then the replaced files have been deleted. The data files will remain where they were, completely untouched by the process.

If you're referring to the use of an OEM's Recovery CD, than all of the files (OS, application, and data files) on the hard drive and been completely erased and the computer restored to its original, ex-factory condition.
