You simply need to take ownership of those folders and files from the original administrator account.
You can then copy all of the profiles programs and settings to the new user profile.
The following articles will guide you.
If you are using Windows XP Home version, you will need to perform the taking ownership work in Safe Mode.
MVP Rick Rogers has a good explanation of the step by step process.

Please help!!!!
I recently renamed my Administrator account in XP. After doing so I
rebooted my computer and the system seemed to have created a new
profile for the new user account. As a result I can no longer access my
email using Outlook 2002, When I launch other programs it seems that I
have to reconfigure them. Does anyone out here know how I can go back
to the original configuration ? I need help
