Try hitting F8 and start in "Safe Mode" or "Last Known good config"

I have just upgraded win2000pro to winxp pro and now when I restart itshows
the win xp logo then the moniter blanks ,clicks off and then the systemd
restarts. It doesn't go beyond the win xp logo. pls help
