Calm:
Do as you like in posting responses to OP here or anywhere else for that
matter. I cannot help you with your question and I have never seen a
applicatrion that can do as you wish. Don't pay any attention to those who
insist on bottom posting. If you post a response then you have already read
the question and need no further information. This is one of the very few NG's
who have weirdos who insist on bottom posts. As a person you do not have to
do anything to appease other readers, do as you desire.

How can I change my settings so that the last response to a posting is at
top after it's opened? When I open any of the postings here, I have to
scroll to the bottom to see the response. Any way to have these be at the
top of each note? Also, I'd like to get rid of the > at the start of each
line if I can. Thanks much for you help.
If you're asking about having a reply within a post be moved to the top of
the message.. I don't know of any newsreader that does that.
The reply is placed by the person writing the message. Outlook Express
by default places the cursor at the top of the message; this is called
top-posting and is not really accepted practice, because to find what's
replied to you then have to jump between the ends of the message.
You can find software that will strip out the quote marks. It's normally
used for emails, but you have to save the file through it. It doesn't work
within a newsreader, and usually you don't want to do this as then you can't
tell who wrote what.

I understand now. I see that it works for me because I'm typing at the top
of the message. I didn't realize it was preferable to read it at the end
and will move it. Thank you for your help.
