Hi Brian,
Yes I tried to use te usb's that the printer is connected to which is the
usb on the side of the tower and the one the modem is connected into which is
the back USB slot, neither worked.
I used my installation disks that come with my mobile and camera does that
atomatically install the correct drivers. My computer recognises the camera
and phone when I plug them in, however it just won't read the memory cards on
either. Very strange. Down in the bottom corner when you go to safely remove
the hardware they are listed if they are plugged in.
I tried to look under USB in device manager however all I could see on mine
was COM PORT1 AND PRINTER PORT LPT1 nothing else. No DM sorry.
If I take my printer out of one of the ports and put it into another port
the printer will work out of them all.
My camera is a NIKON COOLPIX4300.
Thankyou so much for help.
The computer is under warranty still from when the guys did the upgrade for
me so if worse comes to worse I will take it back in.
Would just like to get my pictures out to people.
Thankyou again Rebecca

You mention " I have tried all available slots to no avail." I take it you also
tried the ones the printer and/or modem are connected to, correct? If not do so
to verify if it is/not not a cable or device problem.
If it's not a cable/device problem, the ports that aren't being used may be
disabled or not connected to the headers on the motherboard. I wouldn't think
they'd not connect them though, but I have seen dumber.
Or it could be that the drivers are not installed for the devices. And to be
on the same page, did you or did you not install the drivers when you mentioned
"I have installed the software for both devices".
What's the make/model of the camera?
Have a look in DM under USB Controllers and see if there is a USB 2 Enhanced
Controller listed or not.
Go ahead and attach the camera and go to DM.
On the Menu Bar click View > Devices by Connection.
Expand the tree starting with the names Multiprocessor PC or Uniprocessor PC.
Expand ACPI Compliant.
Expand PCI Bus.
Expand any/all USB Host Controllers.
If your camera is listed as a device in any then:
On the Menu Bar click Action > Scan for Hardware Changes.
Post back with the results while I check up on the camera.

Hi Brian
Thanks for helping me out,
I used to be able to get the pictures easily then I took my computer in to
get a new mother board and other updates.
I used to use the side USB ports , but since getting the computer back there
are also USB at the back. I have tried all available slots to no avail.
I have installed the software for both devices and in the device manager I
can't see any conflicts! What should I be looking for? Should I have the
camera in the usb then go to device manager? There is no conflicts with plug
and play that I can see?
Thanks Rebecca

Im not sure what do???? I have a motorola phone which I take photos with and
Im trying to upload them onto my computer but I keep getting a connections
error. I also have a digital camera and have tried getting my photos of it as
well but it tells me that there is no memory card in the camera, which there
is.
I recently had my computer upgraded, prior to this I could do easy! What
could be missing?
My modem and printer both read the usb port, so I don't think it's a port
issue?
If anyone can help I will be very grateful. Thankyou
