Re: User Account Problem

Hi Kat,

What version of Windows XP are you using and its Service Pack level?

Locate command.com in C:\Windows\System32. Right-click it and click
Properties. Once properties is open, click on Advanced. Enter this for
Autoexec filename, if blank or different. %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT
Enter this for Config filename, if blank or different:
%SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\CONFIG.NT

Now click OK and OK.

After getting rid of a major malware problem I went to my user account
icon
but when I clicked on it I get a black screen that says "16 bit ms-dos
subsystem. C:\\windows\system32\mshta.exe.
C:\\Windows\system32\Autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft windows application." Now I'm unable to
cancel
the guest account, which gave me the malware problem in the first place,
and
I'm afraid I won't be able to install new programs because I don't have
administrative rights. Can someone give me step by step instructions on
how
to fix this. Thank you for any help.
