that file is c:\hiberfile.sys and since it's a system file it will be
hidden. So if you have one or had one it would appear if you select the
folder options to show hidden and system files.

Have you ever had a functional hibernation pwer scheme on the machine your
are referring to?

What are your virtual memory page file sizes?

What is the current power scheme selected on your machine?

Have you installed any adobe software since your last favorable experience
with hibernating your machine?

databaseben,
Tried all this, to no avail !!!
The hibernate option is greyed out everywhere.
I do not have 'hiberfil.sys' or I don't know where to find it.
My fn key functions OK,
and I still don't have the 'hibernate feature.
Now what.

Hi all,
It is the 2nd time I am asking this question:

How do I turn on the hibernate feature. It is not possible via the Task
Manager - hibernate is 'erased' there and when I go to 'Power Options' in
the 'Control Panel' and
use the 'hibernate' tab in order to 'enable hibernate' it gives me this
message:

"The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process"
I did try all the following instructions - and nothing worked.

1. To get your machine to hibernate, try this:
Go to 'Start' > Control panel > power options > tab 'hibernate'>ok:
then
go back to the advaanced tab and use the down arrows to select 'when I
close
the lid, standby', when I press the power button, ask me…' and 'when I
press the sleep button, hibernate'. Then press apply and ok, and close
everything. After that, try the combination of Fn+F4 , By JOHN

2. My Win xp pro hibernates by using the Fn+f12 key, By JOHN

3. Okay. Start > Run type in cmd and click OK. In the DOS Box, type in
sfc
/scannow and hit Enter. Insert the Windows XP CD in your CD drive.

This action will scan all your Windows operating files and make sure
that nothing has changed them. If they were changed, the process replaces
the file changed with the original file. When done, reboot.
Check your Ability to go into Hiberation. By creator
Guys, I NEED YOUR HELP
TIA, Isaac
