RE: Uncontrolled scrolling

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

OK I tried that to no avail, but I do want to thank you for your
perserverance in trying to help me. My next two options are system restore
which for me is a last resort as I had a horrible experience with system
restore, admittedly it was a couple of years ago but it messed me up bad. The
other option is paying sony $20 to troubleshoot the problem. I think the
advice I get here is probably as good as someone from sony reading from their
troubleshooting manual.

Even though someone said earlier that he pretty much guaranteed it wasn't a
mouse problem I still have a suspicion that it is mouse related. My mouse
turned into a rat.....lol

The computer is nearly impossible to use now unless I can resize the pages
to have little or no scroll bar.

There is one more option that you can check and see if it helps you.

1. Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties
2. Click Advanced tab.
3. Click Settings button under Performance
4. Under Visual Effects tab, see the option "Smooth-scroll list boxes"
5. If checked then uncheck and try to scroll.

One more thing:

1. Under Mouse Properties of Control Panel.
2. Check the Wheel option. The Default options is:
"The following number of lines at a time: value is "3".

Hope this information helps you, let us know.

Nope click lock is not on. I turned it on and off though just in case and the
meter under settings in click lock was jumping back and forth, it was for
adjusting how long to hold down the button. this is driving me nuts anyone
else with any ideas please....

According to me "Turn of ClickLock" can cause the problem. Check these
settings under Control Panel - Mouse - Buttons tab.

Hope this information helps you, let us know!

My web pages or notepad etc wont scroll properly. When I scroll to the bottom
it instantly scrolls back to the top. Doesn't seem to be any other problems
other than that everything working ok. I changed batteries and reset my
keyboard and mouse with up to date drivers, checked for stuck keys on my
keyboard with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any help
