Re: CRC error

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi JoJo,

Perhaps the DVD from which you are trying to copy the VOB file has been copy
protected with an encryption system that creates intentional errors, such as
corrupted data, on the disk. One such copy protection scheme is Sony's
ARccOS protection.

Folks:

I am trying to copy a large (1 Gig) file from a DVD to my hard drive.

First I tried Windows Explorer. About 90% into the copying process up
jumps an error message:

<< Cannot copy filename.VOB: Data Error (Cyclic
Redundancy Check) >>

Next I tried XCOPY /V /C and ran into the same problem: File Creation
Error -
Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

* Can someone throw some light on this issue

PS I have cleaned the DVD thoroughly. No dust or dirt, etc.
Also, I can play this file using Real Player

Thanks,
Jo.
