I am trying to copy a large (1 Gig) file from a DVD to my hard drive.

First I tried Windows Explorer. About 90% into the copying process up
jumps an error message:

<< Cannot copy filename.VOB: Data Error (Cyclic
Redundancy Check) >>


Next I tried XCOPY /V /C and ran into the same problem: File Creation
Error -
Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)


* Can someone throw some light on this issue


PS I have cleaned the DVD thoroughly. No dust or dirt, etc.
Also, I can play this file using Real Player

Try another DVD drive. New drives are not expensive and easy to install.
You might also try copying with FileSync - www.fileware.co.uk but if there
are hardware problems it will not fix them.
