I have an HP Pavilion Desktop computer that for no apparent reason randomly
goes in to Standby mode. I have tried a different video card, Network card,
reloaded Windows, tried what HP refers to a Destructive Recovery. I have
tried a new Power Supply. I have tried numorous settings, NOTHING works.. It
does this with SP2 .It does not do this in SAFE MODE nor does it do it with
SP1. Like I have said I have just about tried everything and with the help
of HP I have tried everything twice, and sometimes 3 times, depending on who
I get for Tech Support. I have tried it with an antivirus and without. I
have tried it with a modem and without, in different slots and things like
that. I have tried booting it from my windows disc (as a trial) and tried it
with out booting from the HP discs and that did not work.Like I said I have
contacted HP and they don't know what is wrong.
I have also tried different monitors, and I have the power scheme set to
never on everything.
I am really at a loss since I have been working on it for about 20 hours and
haven't gotten any closer to fixing it then when I began.
I have also tried adding more RAM to it and that did not work. It did not
help the problem.
Any Help would be greatful..
Thanks John
