Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Ok, Wendy. I googled Retrospect and from what I read it is Backup Software
not Imaging or Cloning Software. So, hopefully you backed up your important
stuff to a external media such as another hard drive (External) or CD/Dvd
media.
Then, Dell should have is my guess provided you with a Restore or OEM
WinXP CD. You will need that to reinstall
WinXP to the new drive. Then you can use the Retrospect Software to
restore your backed up files. Since you drive is
still working and if your backup is on you drive you can use it to
restore your backed up files once XP is reinstalled.
Either way you need a WinXP CD or Dell RestoreXP CD.
