Hi Will,
Do you have the Desktop Toolbar (in the Taskbar) enabled? In some systems,
enabling the Desktop toolband causes Windows Explorer to show multiple
Desktop icons in the folder tree.

Recently Folders in Explorer do not always refresh. Instead what happens is
that deleted subfolders remain visible, though obviously inaccessible, but
for some reason Explorer shows multiple DeskTop folders, and/or My Music/My
Pictures folders at the top of the Explorer tree view
Any ideas? I'd like to kill this annoyance. I seem to remember that in
previous versions of Windows there was some setting that controlled refresh
rate
Many thanks
