Re: Need big help from Event Viewer

I just got back from a trip, so my computer wasn't used for about
5 days. When I turned on the computer, I got to the motherboard
display, and then to the Windows XP loading screen. After it
loads, the monitor then displayed a black screen, not losing
connection or cable disconnected. I restarted several times and
even tried Last Known Good Configuration, and it still went to
the black screen. Afterwards, I used Safe Mode and I was able to
get in. I checked Even Viewer and I got these errors in
succession:

Network card okay?
Network okay?

Um.... of course it's ok.... I already said no ! signs on any other
hardware in Device Manager.

That does not mean it is OK..
That means there is no software issues or hardware issues identified by
Windows.
Doesn't mean they do not exist.
Not to mention that Windows has no idea beyond the network card about your
network..
Heck - your problem could be your router isn't working correctly.. Reset
that yet?

Uninstall the card drivers, reboot and reinstall the card drivers. Make
sure you have the latest ones from the manufacturer of the card (not
Microsoft) - also check your chipset drivers (motherboard manufacturer web
page.)

You also may want to consider removig (physically if possible, disabling in
the BIOS if not) the network card and trying a different one.
