WOW big question in a little box!! The choice between XP Home or Pro is of
course dependent upon your needs. I think most domestic users would be quite
content with XP Home. If you have a need for more security, such as in a
business environment, Pro might have an advantage for you, for example, in
the areas of:
Encrypted File System
Domain Accounts & Roaming User
Permissions/rights for users/groups
Control of Simple File Sharing
Other user policies (passwords, etc.)
Some "deficiencies" in XP Home can be worked around adequately with careful
editing of the registry and use of Safe Mode.
What, specifically are your needs?

The thing come with Professional, it was given to my wife so she could
upgrade her machine which is an a Packard bell Pentium from I think
the 17th century.
