Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike,
Linux is a bit user unfriendly. I did though need to run Linux for a
project I was working on.
I tried Mandrake, Mandriva, Debian and Suse. I was told that a dual
boot was safe and that my Windows partitions would not be hurt.
Unfortunately I found out the hard way that is not always true.
There is a solution though for someone who needs to run Linux but is
still mainly a Windows user. I have been using the solution for more
than 6 months and have been very pleased.
What I am doing is running Fedora Core 5 (Linux) as a 'virtual
machine'. I am using the VMWare VMPlayer (which is a free program)
and a Fedora Core 5 (Linux) virtual machine. It has ALL of the
capabilities of a dual boot, but I have not had any of my Windows
Partitions affected in any way.
I am paranoid (too many times bitten), so I created a separate
partition that the virtual machine sits on and it is great. I went
to the Fedora web site and downloaded the 3.1GB install DVD ISO and
can do whatever upgrades I need to. Just today for example, I loaded
the KDE gui package off of the DVD and it worked just fine.
Dual booting is the most common way to run multiple OSes, but I will
tell you I am definitely sold on virtual machines.
If you have any questions, you can e-mail me direct.
