Without typing the path, %windir%\System32 is assumed.
%windir%\system32 usually = C:\WINDOWS\System32.
The files in System32 are the ones that are actually used.

Before trying that I have a couple of questions:
There are more than one instance of iepeers.dll and ole32.dll, in system32
and Servicepackfiles\i386 directories -- how can I make sure the correct
.dll is referenced?
I forgot to mention that I have Windows XP Professinal with Servicepack 2.
