click lock mouse: optical/acoustical feedback wanted

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I basically like the "click lock" feature of the mouse, where it stay
in the clicked position after a
certain time, so don't need to hold the button down while dragging the
mouse over a
selection.

The main problem with this is that you don't get any feedback about
when this click lock
springs into action. For example, I have set the controls so that click
lock gets activated
when I hold the mouse for about half a second. Of course sometimes it
happens that
when I release the mouse button, I BELIEVE that click lock is already
in action, while
it isn't yet, or vice versa that I BELIEVE that I have released the
mouse button early
enough so that it is not locked yet, although in fact it is.

A visual or audible feedback would be helpful. For an audible feedback,
it would already
suffice that the mouse changes shape if it is in the clicked state. Of
course it would be
even better if the mouse changed shape if it is in the click locked
state.

For an audible feedback, one should be able to associate a sound event
as soon as
click lock springs into action.

Does someone know whether this is possible? What are other user's
experience with
the "click lock" feature of the mouse?
