In an earlier post you said IBM had sent you the recovery disk set.
It goes with the laptop as part of the license. If you have the
recovery disk set you don't need the recovery partition. This is a
common scenario when a hard drive crashes. I don't understand what
is so complicated unless for some reason you want to keep the
recovery CD's. They probably won't work on anything else so I don't
know why you'd want them. --
