yes, my BIOS says 1st Boot Device --CDROM, 2nd Removable, 3rd Hard
Drive...that's the way it always was (system is a year old). But, I tried
changing it several ways with no difference. Once I boot with the cd,
everything seems fine...it's just annoying...

Are you sure the hard drive is in the list of boot devices (preferably
first) and that you don't have some other device there (like an
external drive)?
