Scandisk.exe does not exist wth Windows XP. Error Checking in XP is
chkdsk.exe.

try runing scan disk.on desk top, doubly click my computer, right click
hdd c left click propertes, click tools click error check (scandisk) ck
mark box check files
go....can't hurt might help
