DVD burner error message

I have an unusual problem, and hope there is an answer in XP.

I have a rather deluxe DVD (LG multi-super) burner that burns
virtually every known DVD format available. It's a nice unit although
we can't use it with the software supplied due to a quirk in the
software that comes with it.

If I install the hardware with driver, XP can burn cd's with no
problems, but the XP support is minimal at best. There is no support
at all in XP for DVD burning at all.

When I install the software to burn DVD's, I get a warning each time
the system is restarted, and each user on the system gets the same
error message. I'd like to inhibit ONLY that error message (if
possible).

During the boot up, the software displays a 'warning' that I can burn
CD's using the supplied software or using XP's (more limited) burner
support. But, it also says that it cannot burn DVD's without disabling
XP's CD burner support-apparently they are incompatible for some
reason. I am presented with the option to disable the CD burner
support on boot up if I so choose. If I DO NOT disable the XP CD
burner support and try to burn a DVD, I am presented with the same
error message by the software and can turn off the CD support and burn
DVD's just fine.

Technically, the error message at boot up is not needed as the
software deal with burning DVD's just fine as soon as it detects a
burnable DVD in the drive. The error message is somewhat
meaningless...hence I don't wantto see it anymore.

So, I'd like to inhibit only this error message in XP if possible.

Right now, I'm running without the software for the burner installed
to avoid the error message.....but, of course, this also precludes me
burning a DVD::>

And, yes, I have installed the updated driver and have also flashed
the firmware in the burner to the latest revision.

Thanks,

Art
