Outlook 2003 Newsgroup Button Opens an Explorer Folder

I recently posted a plea for help to this newsgroup (see "Help & Support
Centre Always Shows Zero Knowledge Base Results" if you're interested or can
help - suggestions seem to have dried up).
I installed the 'News' button on my Outlook 2003 toolbar, as detailed in
Outlook's help section, but when I clicked on it, a new explorer window
appeared, containg the folder: C:\Program Files\Common
Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033.
The contents of this folder don't seem to have anything to do with
newsgroups.
I left this and posted my earlier problem using Outlook Express, but I would
be interested if this fault could be remedied.
I've tried deleting it and re-installing it (the News button, that is) and
I've tried running a repair-installation on Outlook 2003, but it's still the
same.
I don't have a clue how to re-programme the button to direct me to the right
place.
Anyone any thoughts please?
BTW, I couldn't find a newsgroup for Outlook. Is this the right place for
this post? Apologies if not.
Many thanks.
Michael Walsh
