You will need a Windows 98 or Windows ME boot disk to get and use FDISK.
But be careful, as it will not handle the new "large" drive. Another
option is to download and use a "tools disk" from the hard drive
manufacturer.

I had a similar problem with a new computer I made from various used parts
and a new motherboard. I found out that after I removed the CPU heat sink
and added some "thermal grease" it worked just fine. Guess the CPU was over
heating and not responding correctly. Thermal grease can be obtained in
any good electronic parts store.
