TFT screen to view pictures ?

Sorry if a little off topic, but couldn't find any groups on monitors or
TFT's etc !

I am thinking of buying an ACER AL1912S 19 inch monitor from Argos for
£149.99. But i had heard some reviews saying that TFT isn't really as good
as CRT for viewing Videos and Pictures, but it is better for gaming. Is this
generally the case ?

In a nutshell, do pics/videos generally look better on TFT or CRT ?
