Re: Windows XP Home Repair

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi there

Thanks for that. The problem I have is that the system boots to the light
blue screen with the mouse appearing and just sits there. I think that it
maybe a corrupt driver but am unable to determine which it is. I have tried
booting to Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Command Prompt and the Last Known
configuration that worked but the system still stalls. I have taken out the
hard drive and inserted it into another PC as a slave and have checked it
out, running anti-virus, spamware and clearing out everything that was
found. I defragmented it and all seemed well, but when I inserted it back
into its PC it still won't work. I tried copying the documents and settings
folders to the other PC while it was a slave but could not do so foe two
users as they had put a password on their profiles so am unable to back
these up. If I could back these up I would then simply reformat the drive
and copy these back. any ideas how I can access the data when the drive is
inserted into another PC? Thanks
