Many possible reasons for CRC errors:
-Files were not successfully/completely transferred to DVD. If there were
errors when the files were burned, the copies are no good. Try burning
again and use the Validate/Verify option in your burning software to test
the integrity of the copied files.
-Poor quality media: Burning may seem to go fine but the read operation
fails. Or you find yourself burning a lot of coasters before getting a
"successful" burn. Better quality media produces more reliable results for
burning and reading.
-Dirty or damaged DVDs. There are cleaning kits for discs and for drives.
Sometimes just blowing a bit of canned air will remove an accumulation of
dust in the drive tray. CAUTION: Do not do this when PC is powered. Canned
air if sprayed too densely will cause an accumulation of moisture. Moisture
and electric power do not mix well. Spray lightly - a little goes a long
way.
-Dirty or damaged drive: Laser not functioning at full capacity and cannot
read the files. There is usually a corresponding "bad block" message in
Event Viewer for the drive doing the reading.
