Computer Stuck in Hibernating Mode....

I am trying to fix my friends computer but I can't seem to locate the
problem. The problem is, it won't boot at all. The computer won't even
turn off when I hold the power button and it doesn't even recognize the
monitor at all. All I get is a black screen.
She told me that all she did was leave the computer on and did
her laundry. She came back and it became like this. I am suspecting it
is stuck in hibernating mode but it is weird because it does not
recognize any input from mouse or keyboard. The power supply is working
and so is the CPU fan. The hard drive light is not blinking so I believe
there is no activity there. Also, the CD-ROM won't even open. To turn of
the computer, I have to manually unplug the cable in the back and when I
plug it back in, it powers right up and stays in the same situation.
Again, it won't recognize any input from keyboard or mouse and
doesn't not even respond to monitor because I believe its stuck in
hibernating mode. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :D
